Theory of Operation

The T3480 receives triplicated write data commands from the processor over the I/O Safetybus. Onboard, the triplicated data are routed to two independent voter and logic sections. Each section independently votes the data and drives one 12‑bit D/A converter per output channel.

For each channel, one D/A converter generates the drive signal (actual output), while the other generates a reference signal. The module continuously compares these two signals; they must match for the output to be enabled. If they disagree, the module enters a fail‑safe state, shunting the output.
