The YOKOGAWA AAT145-S53 S1 is a 16-channel isolated analog input module designed for the CENTUM VP FIO system. The AAT145-S53 S1 supports multiple thermocouple types (J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N) and millivolt signals, providing ±40 μV accuracy for precise industrial temperature measurement. The AAT145-S53 S1 also features individual channel isolation, Galvanic isolation, and cold junction compensation for reliable operation. Compact and lightweight at 0.3 kg, the AAT145-S53 S1 is built for demanding process environments
Petrochemical refineries: Multi-point temperature profiling ensures safe reactor operation and consistent catalytic cracking.
Power generation facilities: Monitoring boiler superheater temperatures, turbine inlet conditions, and exhaust gas heat recovery.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing: Validated thermal mapping for autoclaves, fermentation vessels, and lyophilization cycles.
Metallurgical processing (steel mills and foundries): High-temperature monitoring in furnaces and annealing lines.
16 isolated input channels supporting multiple thermocouple types (J, K, E, T, R, S, B, N) and ±100 mV to ±150 mV DC millivolt signals, configurable per channel.
Individual channel isolation eliminates ground loop interference, ensuring signal integrity and stable readings even in high-EMI industrial environments.
High accuracy and resolution: ±40 μV accuracy for TC inputs and ±0.1% of span for precise process-critical temperature management.
Built-in cold junction compensation (CJC): Interfaces with specialized terminal blocks to deliver accurate absolute temperature measurement regardless of control room ambient fluctuations.
G3 conformal coating and extended temperature range (-20 to 70 °C): Protects electronics from corrosive industrial gases, enabling the AAT145-S53 S1 to operate reliably in harsh environmental conditions such as chemical plants.
Compact high-density design (0.3 kg weight): Maximizes I/O density in crowded control cabinets, reducing the need for additional expansion nests while simplifying field wiring
Per-channel independent configuration: The AAT145-S53 S1 allows each of the 16 input channels to be configured individually for TC type (K, J, T, E, R, S, B, N) or mV range, eliminating the need for multiple module types and simplifying spare parts management.
Automatic high-speed analog-to-digital conversion (1-second data update period): Converts low-level thermoelectric voltage signals into digital process data available for PID loops and process control logic without measurable delay in thermal response times.
Burn-out detection for sensor failure identification: Automatically detects broken thermocouple wires within 60 seconds and drives the corresponding channel to a userselectable safety limit (UP/DOWN scale).
Comprehensive onboard fault diagnostics: Enables predictive maintenance strategies, reducing unplanned downtime and improving overall plant reliability and availability.
Intelligent temperature drift compensation: Limits measurement drift to ±80 µV per 10 °C fluctuation, ensuring consistent readings even when control cabinet ambient temperatures vary significantly throughout the day.
Hot-swappable module replacement: Supports replacement without powering down the system, minimizing maintenance downtime while maintaining continuous process monitoring.
